Growing up in the 1980s, my Dad used me as free labor on his renovation projects he did as a side-gig.

And honestly, I was happy to do it. Dad taught me a ton about working with customers, doing quality work, and persevering to finish the job properly.

That’s how I learned what it meant to do a thumbs up job. But when one of our clients offered to hire me as an apprentice plumber, the choice was pretty east: paid work beats unpaid.

Turns out, I love plumbing. Of the great loves of my life, plumbing is #2.

Yeah, that’s a dad joke. But it’s true. And, yes, I’m not only a dad but a granddad, so I’m certified to tell those kind of jokes.

Anyway, back in the 80s and 90s, plumbers and other home contractors had a lousy reputation. Ask the average Joe on the street what he associated with plumbers, and he’d have told you “butt cracks.”

And I simply wasn’t going to have anything to do with that. Plumbing wasn’t just my trade – it was my career and profession. So I bucked that trend hard by insisting on hiring only the best people. Wearing uniforms. Driving clean, nicely painted and well-stocked trucks. And always doing right by customers.

It’s why I named the Company Service professionals — ‘cause that’s what we are.

And why our logo is a uniformed man, giving you the thumbs up, saying, “yes, you can count on us. Yes, we can fix it right, right here and now.”

The same vision is also why I went a few years without pay during our start-up rather than cutting any corners on first class service and doing right by customers.

Now, four decades and change later, we’re not only first-rate, professional plumbers, but Heating and Cooling techs and electricians as well.
